looking forward to seeing HP's strategy for 3PAR. I talked to my rep and he said it's so interesting that he can't explain it he has to draw it out on the board.

Interesting timing with that new P9500 launch(new HDS-based HP system), I guess I will find out what is in store for us soon enough.

The ride can be exhilirating on the way to the destination. When you look at HP's enterprise business and the nested aquisitions (Compaq, Digital, Tandem, EDS etc), you will realize you are all part of the majority! Welcome. Lets go Win!

Well said and right attitude...

Went through similar behavior when Sun acquired StorageTek...

But could not stay for Sun and Oracle...

I anticipated the culture shock will be too high for me.

I hope yours will be better.

Good luck once again!

Marc,

Welcome to the HP Family, I'm glad I got a chance to run into you at VMworld.

Your comments are spot on, but I'd like to add a few comments of my own. I feel qualified to comment by the fact that I started this journey at Digital Equipment Corporation. I have made it through the acquisitions by Compaq, and HP. Though the journey has had a few bumps in the road, it was worth it in the end.

People are trying to do the right things, but sometimes they make mistakes. The important thing is to get through the transition as quickly as possible, so we can all concentrate on the business of delighting customers. As Patton said: "I would rather have a good plan today than a perfect plan two weeks from now."

So to Marc, and all your teammates joining HP from 3Par please be patient while they put these two great companies together. They may get some things wrong along the way, but in the end, they'll get the big things right and that will open up a lot of opportunities for all of us.

Welcome aboard,
Ken (@BladeGuy)
