I visited with 3PAR customer Gregory Thomas last week and he spoke about his role as VP of IT at Managed Health Care Associates and the technology environment he oversees. As a company that prides itself on customer service, MHA looks for the same sort of commitment from it's vendors.
MHA uses an open systems approach built on SQL Server, Exchange, VMware, Dell servers, HP ProCurve switches (they have an iSCSI SAN) and 3PAR storage - an F400 clustered storage array with four controllers with both Fibre Channel and SATA drives. Not fooled by the creative language surrounding multipathing technology in our industry, Gregory did his homework and figured out that 3PAR's mid-range F Class systems provide the same active/active multi-controller capability as the most expensive high end storage arrays. He has first hand experience with the scalable, mixed workload performance that is a 3PAR hallmark.
Just a note: Exchange admins who may be confused about Microsoft's storage statements regarding Exchange might want to check out what he says about their current use and future plans for Exchange running on 3PAR storage. Thanks for the kind words Gregory!
What a wonderful commentary on 3PAR's hard-working and very effective Customer Services group. I hear this from our customers regularly, and the vast majority of them feel like we are proactive, responsive, and the benchmark by which they measure their other technology providers. The ecosystem behind those results is amazing, and I'm proud to be a part of it.
