Comic Relief's Red Nose Day is today (In the UK). The idea started Christmas Day in 1985 when Comic Relief was formed to raise money to help famine victims in Ethiopia. Now, its much larger and broader in scope. Seems like a great idea - get creative - be funny - enjoy the mirth and raise money for others who need help.
Its interesting to note that Red Nose Day is using a cloud infrastructure to support their web and donations platforms. Using cloud resources to support a huge one day event seems like a no-brainer, but it has to be a cloud designed for high performance and the ability to handle a huge workload. Virtualization technology is a key element of this year's effort and 3PAR is proud to be a core component of the infrastructure this year, along with Cisco, HP and VMware.

Thanks Barry Whyte (IBM) for your comment - One of our folks in the UK sent this picture taken from their telly showing the technology credits:
Hey, I did just notice the 3PAR and VMware credits - they just reached £30M and the ability to buy 1M malaria nets - got to be a good thing - well done to 3PAR for helping out. "Red Nose Day" is pretty much an institution over here.
