No, I didn't watch the big game yesterday. Our family went to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco instead, thinking it would be less crowded. Wrong! There are a lot of football agnostics in the bay area who opted to spend a magnificent day in Golden Gate Park and at the Academy. It was well worth it.
Anyway, on the way back to San Jose, I tuned into the end of the game. Missed the first of Arizona's 4th qtr touchdowns, but caught everything else - sort of. When Pittsburgh scored the winning touchdown, there was an amazing non-call. It was like Marv Albert was having a brain freeze or something, maybe he was choking on a churro, maybe he was having a senior moment. Whatever, he left all five of us night driving super bowl fans in sports limbo! I felt like dialing 9-1-1.
Too bad I didn't have the steering wheel cam to share my driving audio disorientation, but it was dark out and SWCSA doesn't approve of night filming.
I recall pretty clearly a call by one of the officials right then and there. And I didn't even have any beer goggles on at the time.
