Chlorpromazine. Highly recommended. Either that, or read more of His Hollisness' blog; it leaves me speechless most times.

It's a Chemist BTW! Or a pharmacy! We've moved out of the Middle Ages in the UK!!

Apothecary? You mean Chemist, or perhaps Pharmacy, not been called an Apothecary since the Middle Ages when we depended on leeches and brain tonic.
...and yes you've lost it - however I sympathise, I do find myself walking through things in my head, but rarely do I say it out loud.
I was in Amsterdam recently (been working there a lot) and in a queue paying for lunch. I thought the guy in front of me was another colleague from work (he had his back to me) and I said out loud "fancy meeting you here" - unfortunately he turned around and was a complete stranger...D'oh...

As the votes come in, it looks like I'm in deeper trouble than I thought. Next time in Dublin, I'll try not to have that one (apothecary) slip out of my mouth while waiting for my Guinness to settle.

Marc - usually if I find myself talking to myself about an issue or dreaming about it too often, it's time for a vacation. Sounds like you need to unwind at the farm (or a Guinness can help too).

I'm relieved! I'm not the only one!

Thanks Pete! Affirmation of something, but I'm not sure what.

LOL. I haven't quite got there yet, but I have got the bad habit of going off on one in my head and suddenly realise that the folks around me have been talking at me and are waiting for a response... I haven't yet admitted I was thinking about the conversations out here at the time.
I'm sure it will come though :)
